Spring 2006 Choir Concert

A note to our website patrons who would like their own copy of these photos:

The original photo set of the Spring 2006 Choir Concert, taken by Don Gach, comprised 390 files in .jpg format. The original files (as taken off  the camera) are very large, averaging about 1.7Mb each.  A CD containing all 390 files is filled to capacity.

The photos you see below are, as with all of our website collages, only a small subset of the total. The Webmaster, with invaluable assistance from other volunteers, selects out a representative sample of photos, crops them to best frame the subjects, tweaks some visual parameters (such as color saturation, lightness, contrast, etc.), scales them to fit on a computer screen, and compresses them so that the files will quickly download for viewing on most computers.

If you would like your own copy of the entire photo set, we've made a .zip file available for download. It was not practical to reproduce the full CD of the photos for distribution. And, currently the website lacks the capacity to store the entire photo set in its uncompressed form for user download.  However, the photo set has been digitally compressed (a feature of the .jpg technology which allows file size reduction with very little detectable loss in photo quality) then combined into a single .zip folder (of approximately 107Mb). We do not recommend downloading this file if you have a dial-up connection.  However, if you have a broadband Internet connection (cable or DSL), then right click here, and select "Save Link As ..." from the pop-up menu. (This is for Windows XP users; sorry, Mac OS users, you're on your own.)
