Some notes on using the calendars:

What is the difference between "Upcoming Academy Events" and the calendars featured and accessed above?

"Upcoming Academy Events" (although occasionally preempted) normally appears as a column on the opening page of this website ("News & Events).  It is a chronological list of upcoming events (most imminent nearest the top).  It serves to alert all website visitors to the major Academy shows and events, especially those that welcome an audience.

By contrast, the calendars accessed via this page are maintained primarily for the internal communication of Academy faculty, parents, students, and staff. They may include detail about auditions, call backs, rehearsals, meetings, deadlines, tests, travel, or anything else the contact person regards as useful. The faculty contact persons (and their authorized students) are responsible for maintaining their respective calendars.

Pop-up text

If the event title is underlined, this means that more information about the event is available by clicking on the title. For example, the event illustrated on the right (scheduled from 8:00am - 11:30am on the 18th day of the month) is titled "FUHS Kazoo Band Rehearsal". But note that the title is underlined. Place your mouse pointer on it, click, and a pop up window will appear with additional detail about the event; e.g., location, what to bring, etc.  (No, it doesn't work in this illustration.)

Printing the calendar

You may want to make a printed copy of your calendar. At the bottom of the calendar page you will see a menu item "Print".  This leads to a printing options page.  Select your printing options, but leave this options window open. Then, to actually print, just use the printing feature of your browser. The generous use of color makes the on-screen calendar easier to understand, but may be wasteful when printed; hence, an important print option is a black-and-white view.
