We’re just beginning our 2007-08 school year and it’s time to again promote the use of the Scrip Program! Watch this site for more details.

In the meantime, make it a habit to order your grocery scrip (Von's, Stater Bros., Pavillion, Albertson’s... and more) every week! Do you do business shopping at Staples or Office Depot? Keep some Scrip on hand!

And how many of us make regular trips to Starbucks??? And don't forget all those restaurants where you regularly eat out or grab a quick lunch -- everything from Mimi's to Del Taco, Baskin-Robbins to Burger King!

If you’re planning to travel out of town, check our airline, hotel and car rental scrip! Planning on some home improvements? Don’t forget to plan ahead with your home improvement store scrip! And for every mile you put on the road, don’t forget there is also gasoline scrip for several of our local stations!

HOW IT WORKS

SCRIP is a fundraising program that only requires your everyday shopping! No extra donations are required. Restaurants and stores you already frequent have agreed to donate a percentage of the amount you spend back to us – 1.5% to 20% of your purchase. Just think of the groceries and gasoline you buy on a regular basis—it adds up quickly!

WHAT IS SCRIP?

SCRIP comes in the form of gift certificates and gift cards that are accepted at hundreds of local and national retail stores, grocery stores, gas stations, restaurants and more. So, instead of paying for your purchases with cash, check or credit cards, you pay with SCRIP ordered through us.

FULLERTON ACADEMY OF THE ARTS PROFITS INSTANTLY!

We purchase SCRIP at a discounted price and sell it to you at face value, so the difference equals instant profit. You are raising money for the Academy of the Arts and it costs you nothing!

GETTING STARTED

The 2007-08 Scrip Coordinator is Debbie Franklin. You may contact her by phone at (562) 690-1019 or via e-mail, gafranklin@earthlink.net. Print the order forms right from this page. If you’d like to see the list of possible SCRIP you may order, just click on the “VENDOR LIST” tab. It is a link to the Great Lakes Scrip Center with whom we do business. This list is continuously updated.

  1. Look over the order form and decide which stores you visit regularly.

  2. As we begin, you are being asked to mail your order to Debbie Franklin/Scrip Coordinator, 1429 La Cañada Drive, Brea, CA 92821 with your check made payable to "FAAF Scrip". Orders will be placed each Monday and Debbie will contact you to arrange to get your order to you either through your student, or pick-up from the school, by Friday. Orders must be received prior to the Monday on which your order is to be placed. (This procedure will change when volume increases and a station on campus will be created.)

  3. Remember that your student may pick up your order for you ONLY if you complete the release form at the bottom of the order form. At the time of delivery of SCRIP orders, each recipient will be asked to show picture identification and will have to sign, acknowledging receipt of the complete order.

  4. If your Academy student has financial expenses associated with his/her art, this is the perfect fundraiser! As your family and friends to order scrip on a regular basis and increase the profits designated for your student!

WHO BENEFITS FROM OUR SCRIP FUNDRAISING?

We ALL do!

50% of the profits earned go directly to the Fullerton Academy of the Arts Foundation (FAAF) which supports all of the Arts. The mission of FAAF is to create, develop and preserve Arts Education. Our funds go toward improvements in the Theater Department, enhancing the Dance Studio, improving our Choir rooms and our Instrumental Facilities. Our general funds are also used to supplement programs including Master Class Instructors and Teachers as Professionals, supplementing accompanist pay, providing scholarships for students and much more!

The other 50% of the profits is designated to go directly to one of our Academy Departments—you choose! At the bottom of each form you will indicate the student’s name and the department to receive your 50% share. We will keep track of those funds and they will be distributed to the appropriate departments on an approximately quarterly basis.
